Introduction:
To celebrate the birthday of Baosheng Dadi ( God of Medicine), Taipei Baoan Temple holds a series of events, known as Baosheng Cultural Festival , every year on March 15th on the lunar calendar. The festival has various art performances, including 23 Jiaxingxi ( family name plays) performances, Three Offerings Rites and the Feast for the Gods , folk art performances, the papier mache exhibition, and beehive firecrackers ritual-Fire Lion Set Off . It is also full of series of activities, such as the birthday celebration of Zhu Sheng Niang Niang ( Goddess of Childbirth) and Mazu ), religious and cultural seminars, historic site tours, Baoan Temple art exhibition, free medical consultations, concerts, Shennong Dadi birthday celebration, Medical Dedication Awards Ceremony, and academic conferences. Baosheng Cultural Festival is now a famous temple fair in Taipei. It is not only a special Taiwanese tradition that shows our appreciation to the gods, but also a religious carnival combined with life and arts. This annual festival reflects both the traditional and modern side of Taiwan.
